Trekking

The Andes mountain range is made up of two parallel cordilleras, in the middle of which are some plateaux and valleys called the “Andean corridor”. In 1802 the German explorer, Alexandre de Humboldt, gave these wonderful sites the name "Volcano Avenue" when he found out that between Otavalo, in the north, and Cuenca in the South there were at least 30 volcanoes next to one another!!!

Though it only represents a small part of the country, this area of the Andes Cordillera gathers half of the Equadorian population, among whom live a number of native communities. The landscape is just gorgeous, ranging from the rain forests to high-altitude snow-capped peaks.
